9 Pin No Tap Singles Tournament

 

State Finals: Canby Lanes September 27&28, 2008

Summer fun 9 pin No-Tap Singles Tournament is conducted by the OSBPA member centers only. This year will be our 14th Annual Summer Fun Tournament. Qualifying will start on May 1st and go through Labor Day weekend September 3rd. Qualifying can be run by in house tournaments or form a league with cost built in. Some of the great aspects of the Tournament are>>>

1. 1st Place - $500.00 guaranteed

2. For in house tournament qualification. We suggest having 1 of 2 qualify for the state finals.  Cost to the bowler is your lineage for 3 games plus $13.00 entry fee.   ( a total of $26.00 per bowler is needed for advancing State Finalists)4. Handicap is based on 210 (80% men, 90% women)

3. Summer Fun Leagues - all members of the league will qualify to go to the State finals if a participating fee is built into their league fees, on the same order as the Super Bowl Leagues.

Suggestion: 13 week schedule - Summer Fun $2 per week.  All bowlers go to state finals.

4. Special Squads on Labor Day weekend - Promote at winter league organization meetings

5. You can set it up to run anyway you want. It cost $26.00 per bowler to go to State Finals. 


RULES & REGULATIONS

 

1. To qualify for the state finals bowlers can bowl house qualifications t any participating center, participate in a 9 pin no tap league or other qualifying league at a participating center. A participating center is a member of the Oregon State Bowling Proprietors’ Association. Tournament play consists of 3 games on a pair of lanes at house qualifications and 3 games of 9 Pin No-Tap at the State Finals. Or Bowl in a Summer Fun 9 Pin No Tap League and bowl State Finals.

2.Entry fee of $26.00 per bowler to state fiinals (lineage $7.50,prize fee $15.75 Expense fee $2.75).  All prize fees collected will be returned 100%. Bowlers will pay for (3) games of bowling at State Finals. $500.00 first place guaranteed.

3. House qualifications shall be conducted during open play or special squads. Qualifying in NO-TAP and summer leagues are permitted providing rule #10 averages are used.

4. Individual handicap used will be 80% of 210 for men and 90% of 210 for women for both levels of competition.

5. House employees may enter the house qualification only (1) time in the center where they are employed and may qualify for the State Finals only once. They may bowl in a Summer Fun No-Tap League and qualify for State Finals.

6. Participants may attempt to qualify at the house level as often as they wish, but may advance to the State finals two(2) times only and may cash at the State finals only once.

7. All participants in the house qualifications must guarantee that should they qualify for the State Finals, they will participate, or failing to do so, must agree to waive any and all rights to advance. There are no substitutions allowed, however the next person in line of qualification may replace a bowler who is unable to participate.

8. House qualifications begin on May 1, 2008. all entering participants must be on the lanes and bowling prior to midnight, Monday September 1, 2008, when entries officially close. The State Finals will be held September 27&28, 2008.  A minimum of 1 out of each 5 participants will cash at State Finals.

9. AVERAGES:

(1) 2007-2008 highest winter league average at the time of entry of 21 games or more will be used.

(2) If no 2007-08 winter league average, 2008 summer league average of 21 games or more will be used.

(3) If bowler has no above average and only has a 9-pin no tap league average, a verifiable 9 pin no tap average of 21 or more games is allowed, or bowler will bowl scratch.

Tournament management has the right to re-rate any bowlers average. We will use ABC/WIBC tournament rule #319e to adjust bowlers averages.

10. Bowlers are responsible for submitting their correct average. The average used at the State finals will be the bowlers highest qualifying average used at the house level. All bowlers at the State Finals must be prepared to verify their averages used at the house qualifications. Disqualification may result at the State Finals for submitting an incorrect average.

11. All protests in house qualifications and State Finals must be sent in writing to the Executive Director of the OSBPA writing 24 hours for decision by OSBPA Tournament Committee.
